Posters of banned Chhatra League pasted at Rajshahi University in the dark of night

The banned student organization Chhatra League has pasted posters on Rajshahi University in the dark of night. On Sunday night, several pictures of the postering on the campus were published on the verified Facebook page of the central Chhatra League.

The page claimed that these posters were put up under the banner of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall Branch Chhatra League in various academic buildings, buses and the Batamul area of the university’s Student-Teacher Cultural Center (TSCC). However, after the pictures were circulated on social media, the posters were not seen anywhere on the campus.

According to campus sources, the pictures of the postering were published on the Facebook page of the central Chhatra League after 11 pm yesterday. The posters had slogans like ‘The prison walls will be broken, but not the people’s voices’, ‘Sheikh Hasina is the daughter of democracy’ and ‘There will be no excuses for education, it will not be allowed’.
Leaders of various student organizations reacted to the activities of the banned organization Chhatra League on social media Facebook.

Mehdi Sajeeb, the publicity and media editor of the university branch student wing and former coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, wrote in a Facebook post, “The fresh blood of July is still flowing in our bodies. As long as this blood remains, as long as the inspiration of the martyrs remains, the terrorist league will not be given even a single concession.”

Shakilur Rahman Sohag, senior vice-president of the university branch of Chhatra Dal, wrote, “Even after being banned, trying to announce its existence by hanging posters in the dark of night is futile. May such banned activities not be shown again in the future. Those who dare to peek through the back door should remember – the consequences of playing with fire will not be good.”

It was not immediately clear who put up the posters, said Proctor Professor Mahbubur Rahman. He said that intelligence agencies and police members are on alert on the campus. They have been given necessary instructions to maintain a normal learning environment. It is also being investigated whether any students of the university are involved in the incident.
