An appeal has been filed with the Appellate Division seeking a stay on the sentence of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (Bachchu), who was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in 1971. The appeal was filed on Monday morning.
Earlier, he surrendered to the International Criminal Tribunal on January 21 of this year.
