The government has made major changes in top positions in various organizations of the education department. On the same day, new chairmen were appointed to six education boards, including Dhaka. In addition, a new chairman was appointed to another important organization of the education ministry, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
These decisions were announced in a separate notification by the Ministry of Education on Monday.
Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman has been appointed as the new chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. This professor of Islamic history and culture has been serving as the controller of examinations at the Mymensingh Education Board for a long time. And Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir has been serving as the chairman of the Dhaka Education Board for a long time. He has been attached to Dhaka College.
Professor Farukh Azam Md. Abdus Salam has been appointed as the new chairman of the Jessore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. He is the principal of Khulna’s Government Haji Muhammad Muhsin College.
Shamim Ara Chowdhury, who was the secretary of the same board, has been appointed as the chairman of the Rajshahi Board. Philosophy professor Md. Ahsan Parvez has been appointed as the chairman of the Comilla Education Board. He was the principal of Debidwar Government SA College in Comilla.
Professor Khondaker Mohammad Sadequr Rahman has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board. He was serving as the secretary of the Comilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
In addition, Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Mawla has been appointed as the chairman of NCTB. This professor of accounting was working as the vice-principal of the Government Commerce College in Chittagong.
NCTB has not had a regular chairman for a long time. For all this time, an additional secretary of the Ministry of Education has been performing the additional duties of the chairman.
