A young man was killed after being lured from his home and attacked by unidentified assailants in Khulna on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Md. Rashed Kazi (20), was the son of Kazi Anisur Rahman from the Krishnanagar area. The incident took place in the Schoolvita area under Labanchora Police Station.
According to his elder brother Kazi Raisul Islam, Rashed was called out of his home by a known individual around 11:15 AM. Later, he was attacked with sharp weapons in front of a school.
Locals rescued him and rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Labanchora Police Station Sub-Inspector Piyush Das said police were sent to the scene immediately and an investigation is underway to identify those involved.
Authorities also noted that earlier on March 19, armed assailants had reportedly opened fire at Rashed’s home, injuring multiple members of his family, including his parents, brother, and wife.
