After various media outlets reported on the incident of getting a 100% GPA-5, questions arose about the institution’s results. In light of this, the Education Board has taken the initiative to investigate the matter.
This information was given in an office order signed by Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board School Inspector Professor Dr. Md. Masud Rana Khan on Sunday.
The notice said that after the publication of the 2026 SSC exam results, there have been allegations of ‘irregular tactics’ being used by Nasima Qadir Molla High School and Homes in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila to achieve 100% GPA-5. The allegation came to the attention of the education board after news about this was published in various media outlets.
The notice has asked students to present various information to verify the overall truth of the allegations and to know the institution’s statement. Among them, information has been sought on students admitted to the institution, students registered in class 9, students who participated in the SSC selection exam, and students who filled out the SSC exam forms.
In addition, the institution’s teaching, department and additional class branch permits have been asked to be presented where applicable.
According to the notice, the concerned authorities of the institution, along with this information, will have to appear in person and explain the reasons for the complaints regarding achieving 100% GPA-5 within the next seven working days.
Nasima Qadir Molla High School and Homes, a popular educational institution in the country, has set a record of achieving 100% GPA-5 in the 2026 SSC. However, parents have alleged that students were given the opportunity to participate in the exam after selecting them under the guise of this success. The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has sought this explanation to verify the truth of the allegations.
The mothers of several students who scored GPA-5 in this year’s SSC exam complained that their children had studied in that school since first grade. Many were also class captains and had consistent achievements in sports. Sadly, the school authorities informed them before the SSC exam that they would not be able to participate in the main exam.
Parents who did not want to be named further said, “They have been teaching their children in this school since class one. A few days before the SSC exam, they were told that they would not be able to take the exam. How did this happen?”
There are allegations that the institution has been using the selection exam as a selection tool to maintain the trend of getting 100% GPA-5. As a result, like every year, a large number of students have been excluded from the main exam.
According to relevant sources, a total of 601 students registered for the ninth grade from the institution in 2024. But only 382 got the opportunity to participate in the 2026 SSC examination. That is, 219 students dropped out on the way from ninth grade to SSC.
Regarding the matter, the school’s headmaster Md. Emon Hossain said that 483 students participated in their selection examination. Out of these, 101 failed, and 382 were approved to participate in the SSC examination.
It has been found that many students who were excluded from the selection exam have taken admission in various educational institutions in Narsingdi and have taken part in the SSC exam. Of these, about 50 students have been admitted to Sunbeam School alone. Of them, 25 have got GPA-5.
The Dhaka Education Board sent a letter to the headmaster of Nasima Qadir Molla High School and Homes on August 16, seeking an explanation for the incident. The letter, signed by the board’s school inspector, Professor Dr. Md. Masud Rana Khan, asked him to appear in person within seven working days to explain the complaint, including the number of students admitted to the institution, information about students registered in class 9, the number of students participating in the selection examination, and information about students who filled out the SSC form.
