BNP’s recently-former Secretary General Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir said, “Khaleda Zia is the main architect of democratic politics. She is involved in the fate of Bangladesh. She was the main architect of how BNP became a complete party after a long struggle. I hold her ideals and pray for the forgiveness of her soul.”
He made these remarks at a prayer mahfil at the party’s central office in Paltan on Saturday at around 11:30 am to mark the 82nd birthday of late BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Mirza Fakhrul said, Begum Khaleda Zia’s role in establishing democracy is immense. She never bowed down to establish democracy. Bangladesh has reached this stage today because of the leader’s sacrifice and uncompromising attitude. We have to embrace Khaleda Zia.
