A low-pressure area has formed in the North Bay of Bengal and the adjacent West Bengal-Bangladesh coast. The Meteorological Department has asked four seaports in the country to raise local warning signal number 3 due to the fear of strong winds due to its influence.
This information was announced in a press release signed by meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick at around 10:15 am on Wednesday.
The notification said that a low pressure area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal and the adjacent West Bengal-Bangladesh coast. It may intensify. Due to this, gale force winds may blow over the North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
In such a situation, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display local warning signal number 3. In addition, fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay of Bengal have been asked to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
