The victim woman, 18, said in her statement to the court on Wednesday morning that she screamed and screamed to escape from the rape on the roof of the modern Sadar Hospital in Natore, but no one came forward.

In her statement, the victim said that she was in the hospital for the treatment of her child. Due to the heat, she left the ward and was standing next to the elevator. Suddenly, the hospital cleaner Amit grabbed her hand and pulled her into the elevator. She was taken to the roof of the building. Then she screamed, but no one came forward to save her. Amit raped her. Two cleaners named Anil and Prangan recorded the video on their mobile phones.
In her statement, the victim woman also said that the two left on Amit’s orders. They later came back and threatened to spread the video and rape her. But Amit chased them away. When the woman returned to the ward, she saw her child crying. She reported the rape incident to the Ansar members on duty at the hospital.
Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mansur Rahman confirmed the victim’s statement under Section 22 and told Prothom Alo that they have made all arrangements to prove the charges against the accused. Video footage of the incident has been seized from the accused as evidence. The accused have been arrested and sent to jail through the court. An application will be made to take them on remand. In addition, the DNA test process is underway.
On June 5, a mother in the city admitted her two-year-old child to Natore Modern Sadar Hospital for treatment. She was raped in the hospital around 11 pm on June 7. Police have arrested Amit, Anil and Prangon in a case filed in this incident.
