A leopard has died after being hit by a car in Sylhet. The incident took place on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway between Bagher Road in Jaintapur Upazila and Well No. 10 of the Sylhet Gasfield on Monday night. It is learnt that the locals saw the leopard lying seriously injured on the side of the road around 11:30 pm on Monday. But no one went near it out of fear. Later, on receiving the information, a team of Jaintapur Police Station went to the spot and found the leopard dead.
Jaintapur Police Station OC Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Molla said the tiger was injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle. The tiger died before the police could rescue it. Later, a general diary was filed at the police station and the dead tiger was handed over to the forest department.
