The Meteorological Department has forecast gusty winds in 13 regions of the country, including the capital Dhaka. At the same time, there may be rain and thunderstorms in some places in these areas. The concerned river ports have been asked to display warning signal number 1 due to the threat of adverse weather.
This information was given in the Meteorological Department’s forecast for inland river ports on Monday (August 17) morning.
The forecast says that temporary gusty winds may blow over Rajshahi, Pabna, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar regions by 9 am.
During this time, gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the south or southeast may blow. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in some places in these regions.
The Meteorological Office has advised vessels in these areas to proceed with caution due to the possibility of inclement weather. At the same time, the relevant river ports have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
