Leaders and activists throng Madaripur for Prime Minister’s visit

There was a festive atmosphere throughout Madaripur surrounding the visit of Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman to Barisal. Thousands of leaders, activists, supporters and people from different classes and professions of BNP and its affiliates and affiliate organizations gathered on both sides of the Dhaka-Barisal highway, ignoring the continuous rain of Ashadh since morning. With flowers, national and party flags in their hands, they waited to catch a glimpse of their beloved leader and wish him well.

The sky was covered in dark clouds and intermittent rain—sometimes drizzles, sometimes torrential downpours. But the hostile weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the leaders and activists. They waited for hours on end by the side of the highway to welcome the Prime Minister.
