HSC candidates had to travel by boat to the examination center due to continuous rains in Comilla since early morning. The candidates and their guardians said that they were forced to take this risky route due to the flooded roads and lack of vehicles.

It is learned that today the first paper of the Physics and Commerce branch of the Science Department and the first paper of the Logic branch of the Humanities branch are being held. In the morning, Yusuf Molla Tipu, Administrator of the Comilla City Corporation, visited the Comilla Government Women’s College Center. During this time, he helped the examinees enter the examination hall safely.
Anisur Rahman, the guardian of the Comilla Government Women’s College, has come to the examination center with his daughter. He said that the way the students boarded the boat for an important examination like HSC is very risky. Any kind of accident could have happened. If the admit card had fallen into the water, it would have been a disaster. The education minister should have postponed the examination due to the adverse weather conditions.
Mahinur Akhter, who came to take the Comilla Government Women’s College central examination, told Amar Desh, “It has been raining heavily in Comilla since midnight. I came out of my house with great difficulty to take the examination. When I arrived, I saw that the roads around the examination were flooded from my knees to my waist. There was also a lot of water in the field inside the center. I had to enter the examination center at great risk. If the Education Minister had postponed the examination in such weather conditions, it would have been beneficial for everyone.”
Comilla Meteorological Department official Syed Arifur Rahman said that 107 millimeters of rain has fallen in Comilla since early morning today. It will continue to rain in Comilla throughout the day.
Comilla Victoria Government College Principal Professor Abul Bashar Bhuiyan told Amar Desh, “Students from eight colleges are taking the exam in the Comilla Victoria Higher Secondary Branch. There is no water problem in our center. Students from my college have had some problems entering the hall of Comilla Government Women’s College. Besides, students have been suffering since morning due to lack of vehicles in Comilla city.
Prominent figures in the city have said that in the face of inclement weather, authorities, including the Minister of Education, should postpone the exams, considering the safety of students.
