Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed visited Bangabhaban for the first time after assuming office. He entered Bangabhaban at around 11:15 am on Tuesday.
After Md. Shahabuddin resigned from the post of President, Speaker Hafizuddin Ahmed took over. He will continue to serve until a new President is elected. Although he will hold office, he will not go to Bangabhaban, but will remain in the Speaker’s residence in Parliament.
Md. Shahabuddin resigned on July 24 (Friday) due to health reasons. Two days later, on Sunday, he left the President’s official residence, Bangabhaban.
