The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to reduce the price of gold in the country’s market. This time, the organization has reduced the price of a 22-carat gold bar by Tk 2,216 to Tk 221,966, including VAT.
Bajus announced this in a press release on Thursday morning. The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
Bajus said that the price of pure gold has decreased. As a result, the new price of gold, including VAT, has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT in the domestic market will be 221,966 taka. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at 211,993 taka, 182,075 taka per bhori and 148,774 taka per bhori of traditional gold.
Bajus also said that this price will remain in effect until further notice. However, wages will be applicable according to the design of the ornament. In addition, as VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. In the case of ornament exchange and purchase, the previous rules will remain in effect, excluding specific VAT, wages and stone prices.
