Days of getting away with attacks are over: Iran

Iran’s acting defense minister, Brigadier General Majid Ibn-Reza, said that Iran has changed the balance of power in the Middle East through the recent conflict and has ended the era of military threats and pressure. He also warned that the days of ambushes and escapes are over.

In a post on social media, he said, “We must learn from thousands of years of history and speak with respect to Iran. It is not possible to change the reality or outcome of the conflict through media propaganda.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that diplomacy could resume if the United States avoided pressure and coercion and returned to talks based on mutual respect. He said the United States must recognize Iran’s rights, build trust and uphold its previous commitments.

Araghchi, after meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Tehran, said mediation by regional countries was important to reduce tensions. He also stressed the importance of keeping the regional security system free from external interference.
