The body of a young man who had left his house in the evening in Kaunia Upazila of Rangpur was found on a deserted road. The body was recovered from a deserted road in Charchatura village of Ward No. 8 of Haragach Municipality of the upazila around 10:30 pm on Sunday.
The deceased Abu Siddique (35) is the son of Raja Mia of Pallimari Haqer Bazar area of ​​Haragach Union.
According to local sources and relatives of the deceased, Abu Siddique left his house on Sunday evening and went to the Milon Bazar area of ​​Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila. Charchatura village is the last boundary of Haragach Municipality of Kaunia Upazila next to Milon Bazar. At around 9 pm, relatives came to know that Siddique’s body was lying on a deserted road in this village.
Obaidur Rahman Ebad, a member of Ward No. 7 of Haragach Union, said that Siddiq left his house in the evening and went to the Milon Bazar area. Later that night, his body was found lying on a deserted road in Charchatura village.
The deceased’s cousin, Majmul, said that when he went to the Milon Bazar area, he heard that Siddique had a heated argument with someone on his mobile phone while sitting in the field before the incident. Some time later, someone hacked him to death with a sharp weapon and left him in a secluded area. However, it was not immediately confirmed with whom he had an argument and for what reason.
Haragach Police Station OC Ashok Chauhan said that after receiving the information, the police quickly went to the spot, recovered the body and brought it to the police station. Initially, it is believed that he was killed by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon and slashing his neck and face. The police are working to find out who was involved in the murder and for what purpose.
