Eight more children have died in the country with measles symptoms. Six of them are from Dhaka division. With this, the number of deaths due to measles and measles symptoms in the country in 88 days has reached 639. Of these, 547 children with measles symptoms and 92 children with confirmed measles have died.
This information was revealed in the latest report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday. This calculation is for the period from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am today.
Of the 8 children who have died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, 6 are from Dhaka division. In addition, there is 1 child each from Sylhet and Barisal divisions.
During the same period, 829 children were admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms. Of them, 310 children are from Dhaka division. This is followed by Chittagong (140) and Barisal (119). In the last 24 hours, 853 people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
The first measles patient was identified in the country on March 15. According to the latest report from the Department of Health, 82,029 people have shown symptoms of measles in the last 88 days. 66,999 people have been admitted to the hospital. A total of 9,927 people have been identified with measles. In addition, 63,145 people have been discharged from the hospital.
