The Bangladesh Embassy in Poland has issued urgent instructions for Bangladeshis living in the country regarding the use of social media. The instructions call on Bangladeshis to be more responsible in using social media. The instructions were given in a post on the embassy’s social media page on Friday.
It said, “In light of the recent directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all Bangladeshis living in Poland are humbly requested to use social media wisely and responsibly. At the same time, it is specifically requested to refrain from any statement, behavior, activity or propaganda that may be misleading, untrue, provocative, offensive or contrary to the prevailing laws and regulations of Poland. Such activities may damage the image and reputation of the Bangladeshi community.”
In this situation, several instructions have been given to Bangladeshis residing in the country regarding the use of social media. These are:
1) Comply with the laws and regulations in force in Poland.
2) Verify the authenticity and potential impact of any information, statement, or content before publishing or promoting it.
3) Refrain from untrue, misleading, illegal or inflammatory statements, content or activities.
4) Behave responsibly, modestly, and legally, both online and offline.
5) Be aware that personal actions do not tarnish the reputation and dignity of the Bangladeshi community.
6) Follow the laws and instructions of the relevant authorities when living, working and doing business in Poland.
